Clare always displayed an extremely proactive approach and was always mindful of our budget and requirements. Furthermore, along with her professional approach, she used her experience and expertise to great effect to match our expectations. She was always calm and approachable even when dealing with us at distance whilst we were not in Portugal. To her great credit, she always sent the right priorities.

Clare’s decisions were based on conscientious and anticipatory planning and she ensured that we were always aware of the respective steps to be taken in the house purchase procedure here in Portugal. We also witnessed first-hand when dealing with customers, business partners and third parties, her demeanour was always business-like, polite, and professional. Positive mention should be made of the fact that she is always aware of the intercultural challenges of working within a multinational environment and she thinks and acts accordingly at all times.

We were most grateful for her sterling efforts and have remained in contact.

We wish her the very best wishes for her career and her future.

One of the first estate agents that we spoke to in the Algarve.

They were easily contactable and always available to help in our search for the right property and within our budget.

Our primary contact was Nicola, who was incredibly helpful, very patient, and always very cheerful.

We can highly recommend anybody looking to purchase a property in the Algarve to contact this estate agent. Make this your first port of call!

The team at Triennial Properties have been amazing and have helped us every step of the way when buying our villa in Portugal.

Buying a property abroad can be a difficult process to understand when you’re not living in the country and don’t speak the language and without their help we would have really struggled.

Their help and advice goes above and beyond what you would expect from a normal estate agent and nothing is too much trouble for them. What we particularly liked was that during the viewings they also offered their advice on the pros and cons of a property yet remained impartial by letting us make our own mind up.

We must have been an estate agents nightmare

We must have been an estate agent's nightmare, knowing that we wanted a property in the Algarve but changing our minds several times. This didn't seem to faze Marina who arranged viewings, taxi'd us around from our hotel to all the properties, adapted to our changing demands (initially we thought we would buy land and then changed to a ready-built house), and even when we had agreed on the purchase, she supported us through the mortgage/purchasing process. Whilst ferrying us around all over the place she filled us in on so much useful information about Portugal......I do not know how we would have bought the house without her and would highly recommend her and Triennial's services.

My husband and I would absolutely recommend using Triennial Properties if you are house-hunting in Portugal. From our first tentative search for houses in the winter of 2020, Triennial has been such a great help to us. We first made contact with Clare who was brilliant in letting us know how things were in Portugal throughout COVID. We received regular updates and once we were finally in a position to travel to the Algarve, Clare made sure to check through the properties we were interested in and arranged for us to view them. Clare understood all the inevitable difficulties we might encounter on coming to a new area. We then got to meet Nicola and Marina. Nicola was kind and patient enough to escort us around some properties and guided us through things we may not have given enough consideration if left to decide on our own! We found our perfect home in a few days and, once again, Nicola “held our hands” as we made our offer and got the ball rolling on our purchase. Once we returned to the UK, Nicola has continued to check in on us. We have been made to feel like friends, rather than clients and are sure we will be seeing more of these wonderful ladies once we finally make our move to our lovely retirement home in the sun!

I knew I was in good hands

From the moment that Clare called me in response to my on-line request for information on a particular house I knew I was in good hands. She took on board precisely what my requirements were and while she was prepared to give me details of other houses that fitted the bill she was not going to try to persuade me to change my ideas.

Six weeks after our telephone conversation I was in the Algarve being greeted by Nicola, who had drawn up a shortlist of four houses, knowing which was top in my mind but at the same time happy to show me others which fitted my demands – and they were demands! – particularly since, as she knew, number one was under offer. With it being the first we visited it was clear that all the others very probably wouldn’t grab me, but she quite rightly took me to see them given the possibility of a worst-case scenario.

Throughout the day that we spent together Nicola proved herself to be highly knowledgeable as to the ins and outs of Portuguese bureaucracy, explained the NHR system and how the purchase of property worked. No question I asked went unanswered.

Meanwhile her treatment of the vendor of my favourite property was equally thoughtful and lacking pressure. Nicola knew she had a potential sale on her hands, but understandably was not going to try to persuade an elderly widow to pull out of a sale that had been accepted but not yet finalised. My husband followed me down a week after my arrival and I like to think that it was his charm that convinced the vendor that we would look after something she clearly loved and had put so much in to.

Prior to the acceptance of our offer it was time to meet Marina, who with Nicola set up a lawyer’s appointment for the day of my husband’s arrival so that, should everything be agreed, we could leave Portugal knowing that all was safely under control. And indeed it was.

Two months after my first viewing we became the very contented owners of what must be the house of our dreams, all thanks to the assistance given us by three such helpful people – even down to helping us with furnishings. I cannot praise them too highly for the professionalism and care they showed throughout what could have become a stressful period.
